Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS Online Privacy Statement

Introduction 

The Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS believes that online privacy is important to the success of the Internet and electronic commerce in general, and thus is strongly committed to each visitor’s right to privacy. The following statement sets forth the Chapter's privacy policy for its web site located at http://www.apics-Fort Wayne.org and explains its information gathering and handling practices

If you, as a visitor, choose to register or submit identifying information, you are consenting to the Chapter's use of such data in accordance with its privacy policy as described in this statement. Collection and Use of Information

"Cookies" are used to collect information about viewers’ browsing habits in support of enhancing services based upon areas of interest by our visitors. Cookies are small text files stored in a user’s browser and are not used to track the identity of or to store personal data about individual users. Such statistics are reported in the aggregate to our webmaster who use this information to measure number of visitors to different areas of our site to make certain that our web site is useful and an effective information resource.

The Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS receives very little personal information from visitors to our web site and only for a limited set of purposes such as capturing contact information for our information delivery processes. In general, personal or identifying information may be collected as registration data for certain areas of the site, in order to enable us to respond to certain inquiries for further information, to distribute requested materials, or when wish to register for specific Chapter educational offerings. Such personal information may consist of, but is not limited to the following: member identifier, name, phone numbers, and email addresses. Additional demographic information is not actively sought, but may be obtained when a visitor submits information for membership identification purposes or wishes to receive additional information. The Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS accepts your explicit consent to use that data in the ways described in this privacy statement. 

It is possible for a visitor to send emails through the site, and such messages will contain the user’s name and email address, as well as additional information that the user may wish to include in his or her messages. Because our web site can be used in support of job placement opportunities and APICS related topics as an information resource, there are situations that may warrant use of such information. 

The Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS limits the information collected from visitors to only the minimum information required in fulfilling a visitor’s request. Where non-mandatory data is sought, the visitor will be notified that such information is not a necessity at the time of collection of such data. Most information available to visitors through our web site are provided via download. The Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS will not use personal data to facilitate unsolicited marketing activities outside the purpose and scope of making information on educational events we feel of interest to our subscribers and members and in any case will not be disclosed electronically.  

Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

Visitors are not required to register in order to gain access to the Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS web site. All personally identifying information provided to the Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS through the Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS web site is provided on a strictly voluntary basis by visitors. Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS will never sell, release, or give any visitors’ information to any unaffiliated third not within the scope if facilitating education and announcement of such related events. Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS may provide a visitor’s information to its affiliates, or to related entities (such as other local professional societies when necessary to achieve the purpose for which such information was provided as in education event notification. Any visitor who has requested information or notices regarding our services or products may choose at any time to discontinue receiving this information. It is our policy and intent to honor that choice and accordingly refrain from sending any further information or notices.

If and when personally identifiable information is retained, Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS will use commercially reasonable efforts to keep an accurate record of any information submitted by any visitor to  the Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS web site. Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS is not responsible for verifying the continued accuracy of this information. If the Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS is made aware that personal data previously submitted to its site is no longer accurate, and it is practical,  the Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS will use its best efforts to make appropriate corrections based on updated, revised information provided by visitors. The primary collection and management point of most of this information resides with APICS Society and changes to that information  must be submitted there for member information. 

Security

The Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS has in place generally accepted standards of technological security for the purpose of protecting all  information provided by visitors from misuse, loss, or corruption. Only authorized Chapter Board members have access to personally identifiable information submitted through the web site They are required to maintain  the confidentiality of this sensitive data. The policy also applies to any and all affiliates, and related entities of Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS that may receive such information from the Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS. All visitors, however, should be aware that our web site may contain links to other sites that are not governed by this or any other privacy statement.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

The Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS reserves the right to modify or amend this privacy statement at any time and for any reason. Nothing contained herein is intended to create a contract or agreement between Fort Wayne Chapter of APICS and any user visiting the web site or provide identifying information of any kind.
