Job Description
FUNCTION:

Responsible for import and export operations, trade compliance monitoring and reporting services. Assist with company audits of customs entries and business records and review import and export processes, identifying opportunities for improved processes and procedures. Assist in establishing and executing an offshore sourcing strategy. Prepare and manage requests for proposals and the vendor selection process. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (Note:  Other duties may be assigned)

bulletPerform strategic capacity planning and analysis of bottlenecks in relation to offshore production
bulletHelp maintain a system to evaluate and measure offshore purchasing performance.  Initiate and monitor corrective action when performance fluctuates from plan.
bulletWork to establish and maintain relationships with vendors
bulletTrack and maintain all HTS codes and assure we are using the correct HTS code for customs
bulletDefine the proper HTS code of all new products
bulletProvide information on anti-dumping and the risk of current and new products
bulletOversee movement of all internationally sourced merchandise/supplies
bulletLead in negotiating ocean carrier and international operations contracts; reviewing rates and service for competitiveness
bulletAssist with the introduction of new product sourcing
bulletServe as liaison between Operations and creative design areas for offshore production
bulletAssist in establishing procedures to conduct audits of import entries and export declarations to ensure that information declared to authorities (e.g., Customs) is accurate
bulletAssist with internal audits to meet “reasonable care” compliance standards with internal procedures, customs regulations and regulatory requirements for other government agencies related to international transportation
bulletReview and monitor record keeping procedures to ensure compliance with Customs, Bureau of Industry and Security regulations
bulletMonitor activities of Customs brokers using objective performance measures
bulletEstablish and maintain good working relationships with Customs and other regulatory officials and service providers
bulletIdentify, lead and participate in continuous improvement projects
bulletMaintain a safe and organized work environment
bulletDocument and maintain Import/Export procedures

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

bullet2+ years experience in international transportation
bulletWindows based PC experience with strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook including advanced skills in spreadsheet, database and graphing applications
bulletKnowledge of U.S. customs laws and regulations, including classification, valuation, origin, record keeping, and compliance monitoring as well as knowledge of international consolidation operations and international transportation (sea/air)
bulletWorking knowledge of U.S. export control laws and regulations preferred
bulletExperience with Customs and/or Bureau of Industry and Security compliance
bulletExperience in working with and maintaining positive relationships with government officials
bulletOutstanding organization and time management skills
bulletStrong and effective negotiating skills
bulletAbility to work well under pressure
bulletStrong analytical and decision making ability
bulletDetail oriented
bulletStrong team player
bulletExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
 

EDUCATION:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics/Business Management.
bulletAPICS certification also a plus.

Job Description
FUNCTION:   Responsible for the coordination, maintenance, and control of engineering inventory. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to maintaining stock levels, cycle counting, physical inventories, tracking, and discrepancy resolution. Ensures inventory and related processes, transactions, and records are accurate and sufficient. Initiates immediate action in out of stock situation.

bulletAssist the Engineering Manager in materials management and inventory planning.

 QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

bulletLight manufacturing/industrial experience preferred with a basic understanding of Vera Bradley manufacturing process preferred
bulletGood PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
bulletExperience working with ERP a plus

FUNCTION

Provide all necessary general and preventative maintenance for the machines located within the Operations facility. These positions are on THIRD SHIFT.

bulletProvide back-up maintenance support for forklifts, conveyors, air compressors, compactors, forklifts, and pallet jacks       
bulletAssist in raw materials warehouse, cutting room, components and trim ripping areas as needed when not performing maintenance work
bulletOn call for shift maintenance issues
bulletAssist in ensuring safety supplies are stocked, maintain fire extinguishers, keep aisle ways clear, etc., to ensure a clean and safe work environment as needed
bulletPerform miscellaneous Company errands as needed utilizing Company or personal vehicle
