Summit Brands, a fast growing local consumer packaged goods company since 1958, requires a high energy and motivated individual for a Buyer position.  Requires a BA degree and/or 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training.   The ideal candidate must have experience with all aspects of purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies from vendors.

 

The successful candidate must have excellent communication and presentation skills, detail oriented, and excellent problem solving skills, have a positive attitude, and have computer experience with knowledge in Word, Excel, and Outlook.   Salary will be commensurate with experience.  Excellent benefits included.

  TITLE:                        Material Planner                      REPORTS TO:  Materials Manager      

                  DEPT:                                     Materials                                  LOCATION:  WARSAW

  CLASSIFICATION:     Exempt

SUMMARY POSITION:

Compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

·Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock and order priority.

·Confer with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors of material status.

·Communicate with Sales Partners regarding status of orders, expediting orders and answer technical questions.

·Communicate changes in priority of customer orders to supervisors and/or appropriate floor personnel.

·Kan Ban

QUALIFICATIONS:

·Certification in Purchasing Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred

·High school diploma or equivalent, B.S. Degree preferred

·Must be computer literate

·Detailed oriented with attention to accuracy

·Ability to gather and identify potential problems

TITLE:   Director or Materials Management and Logistics                                       LOCATION:       WARSAW

 

SUMMARY POSITION: 

 Effectively plans and implements work for assigned purchasing and production control departments ensuring parts or materials are available for the manufacturing environment to perform the work.  Performs capacity analyses by specific work center and makes capital equipment recommendations.  Implements flow manufacturing techniques where appropriate.  Provides other support to production and management as required.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

·                     Responsible for the successful development of supply chain solutions using the core technology infrastructure.

·                     Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

·                     Conducts capacity analyses by specific work center/machine to determine the need for additional tools/capital equipment.   

·                     Implements flow manufacturing techniques into production.  Understands and facilitates the use of KANBANS, and method sheets to ensure the highest quality and linearity are attainable to production in a flow manufacturing environment. 

·                     Manage subordinates within the Supply Chain application related to the manufacturing needs.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

·                     Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·                     B.S. degree in Industrial Management/Engineering and one to two years purchasing, production planning, inventory control or related experience in a manufacturing environment. 

·                     Knowledge of manufacturing, quality control, and planning processes.  Mainframe and personal computer experience a plus. 

·                     Able to understand manufacturing engineering processes and to read and interpret blueprints.  Good mathematical skills. 

·                     Desired requirements:    Advanced degree

·                     Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. 

·                     Ability to respond to market/customer fluctuations within the supply chain operations.
